A striking group of 125 artfully composed photographs highlighting the construction and inaugural steel production at the Kaiser Company Iron and Steel plant in Fontana, California.
Comprised of various construction scenes depicting hardhatted workmen bolting down beams and girders; billowing smokestacks, blasting furnaces, and coke ovens; alongside panoramic views of the entire plant, silhouetted against a mountainous background. Silver prints, the images measuring 9½x7¼ inches (24.1x18.4 cm.), and the reverse, the sheets 8½x11 inches (21.6x27.9 cm.), each with the Frasher's Fotos credit, image title, company name, date, and inventory number, in the negative. 1942-43
