Chesapeake Bay album entitled Hotel Chamberlin, Old Point Comfort, Va., with 35 photographs, including 3 panoramas by Cheyne's Studio.
A professional photographer's photographic record of interior and exterior creature comforts afforded at this luxe hotel, a Victorian-style castle, that featured "Oriental" rugs and appointments, an Army and Navy Room, artillery practice, a Palm Garden and a Sea Pool, fresh oysters, and views of local Marine Corps drills. The album was commissioned by the International Sleeping Car Co.; the majority of the prints are medium format, with a few panoramas. Printing-out paper prints, the images measuring 3½x4¾ to 7½x9½ (21) to 7x16 inches (3) (8.9x12.1 to 19.1x24.1 to 18.8x40.6 cm.), several with Cheyne's credit and copyright in the negative and printed caption information on mounts recto. Oblong folio, gilt-lettered leatherette, worn; with the original tissue guards; contents generally clean. Circa 1895
