Folio entitled Ansichten von Bahia, with 32 photographs, including 4 diptych studies of men and women laborers (apparently from Marc Ferrez's negatives). Also includes 4 harbor views by Guilherme William Gaensly (on cream mounts with Gaensly's blind stamp and Kummler's hand stamp), 14 city views and seascapes (on Kummler's blue mounts with his printed credit), 8 cityscapes (on lavender mounts, with Kummler's hand stamp), 4 diptychs (on blue mounts, each with Herman Kummler's printed Aarau [Brazil] credit), and 2 photographs on smaller cream paper mounts (each with Kummler's hand stamp). Salted paper (5) and albumen (31) prints (including 4 diptychs), the images measuring 5½x4 to 6½x9 inches (14x10.2 to 16.5x22.9 cm.), the mounts 6x9¼ to 9½x13 inches (16.5x23.3 to 24.1x33 cm.), each annotated, in ink, on mount recto, and many with the photographer's printed credit, embossed hand stamp, and Kummler's hand stamp, on mount recto.
