9 •(JAVA) Suite of 9 detailed photographs of Java. Including views of people working at tea and coffee plantations, sorting Tapioca, harvesting Areca nuts, plus a primitive cantilever bridge, and a large Waringin tree. Albumen (8) and printing-out paper (one) prints, the images measuring approximately 10½x8¼ inches (26.7x21 cm.), and the reverse, cornered into mounts 11¾x14 inches (29.8x35.6 cm.), more than half with captions in the negative and a G.R. Lambert and Co. blind stamp on recto, and the rest with a W&P [Woodbury and Page] blind stamp on recto. Circa 1860s
