Vroman is known to have made images in Pennsylvania, and two of the photographs in the volume also appear in Photographer of the Southwest: Adam Clark Vroman, 1856-1916 (Bonanza Books). They are Media, Pennsylvania, country road with hay wagon, 1900(p. 122), and Media, Pennsylvania, the old miller, 1900 (p. 126). After Vroman completed his trips to the Southwest, his interests turned toward Japan, another theme touched on in a few images in this volume.
