337 •(FLAPPERS' FASHION) A group of 38 stunning and retouched photographs of bourgeois fashionistas decked head-to-toe in elaborate gowns and dresses from high-end designers such as Henri Bendel, Coco Chanel, and others.
Including various views of upper-class women in attention-garnering outfits embellished with strings of pearls and heavy fur trims. Each is retouched providing a surreal visual quality and partially removing the model from the period backdrops. Silver prints, each measuring approximately 10x8 inches (25.4x20.3 cm.), and some slightly smaller, with editor's reproduction markings and retouching on recto, and many with captions, in ink, and typed labels, as well as numerous date and reproduction hand stamps, on verso. 1920s
