333 •STANLEY N. HOYT (active 1900-1915) Group of 20 photographs of San Francisco billboards that survived the 1906 earthquake.
Includes graphic ads for a variety of goods and services, such as wallpaper, furnishing stores, Hunter Whiskey, various clothing and tailors, trips to Mt. Tamalpais or Muir Woods, beer, cigars, and magazines. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 4¾x6½ inches (12.1x16.5 cm.), and the reverse, with Hoyt's facsimile signature hand stamp and later notations, in pencil, on verso. Circa 1907-08
