SAMUEL BOURNE (1834-1912) A pair of albums from India with a total of 100 photographs. The albums highlight Bourne's hallmark technically ambitious and diverse imagery, including urban scenes busy with pedestrians and vendors, as well as sublime rural landscapes and beautiful architectural studies, many including human figures. Albumen prints, the images various sizes, but measuring up to approximately 9 1/2x11 1/2 inches (24.1x29.2 cm.), and the reverse, mounted recto only, each with Bourne's signature and inventory number in the negative. Small oblong folios, gilt-lettered leather with metal clasps, worn and lacking the backstrips; partially disbound. 1863-70
