A portfolio entitled Transmutations. Complete with 12 photographs produced from 1934-1935 made by engraving over previously exposed glass negatives of female nudes. Toned silver prints, the images measuring 9 1/2x7 inches (24.1x17.8 cm.), and the reverse, each mounted within a paper presentation folder with the title and sequential number printed on the cover. Folio-sized black clamshell case with the gilt-lettered title; with Brassaï's signature and edition notation 31, in ink, on the colophon; includes a printed English translation of the French text; contents loose as issued.
