A group of 9 compelling photographs depicting the construction of the U.S.S. Macon blimp.
The lighter-than-air vessel is shown in various stages of construction and just before take off; with one image showing the partially collapsed body of the crashed U.S.S. Shenandoah. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), and the reverse, displayed in original windowed exhibition mounts with typed captions identifying the image (sometimes with a credit) in separate mat windows. Circa 1933
