(DONAWITZ STEEL WORKS) An album including approximately 35 photographs chronicling the production of steel at the Donawitz Steel Works, Austria.
With views of the Styrian Ore Mountain; scenes of laborers smelting, lining and casting; and numerous views of the steel plant, showing machinery, furnaces, cooling beds, billet mills, and ingot storage. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 8 1/2x6 1/2 inches (21.6x16.5 cm.), and the reverse, mounted recto only to brown pages, each with a handwritten caption, in German and English, in white ink, on recto; each page with an interleaving cover sheet of spider-webbed glassine. Oblong 4to, brown leatherette with ties. Circa 1940s
