(HAND-DRAWN ILLUSTRATIONS) A pair of artful albums with approximately 400 snapshots related to the Gomez family.
The first is titled Looking Back at the Past by Bob Gomez, and documents his parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as family friends, on outings to the beach and the country, posing at home (Queens and Long Island, apparently), and the arrival of "the next generation." The more than 200 snapshots span circa 1910-50s, are accompanied by his witty use of text and cute illustrations, including song lyrics and other banter. Small 4to, brown leather with gilt-lettered text; compiled later. The second, also with more than 200 snapshots, is by Jacquelyn Rose Gomez, and is a diary of sorts, documenting her life between 1948 and September 1949. The album is composed of snapshots, including numerous views of her handsome husband and their honeymoon together. With captions in various colored inks, and showing many of the same family members. 1948-49
