(WWII--AFRICAN AMERICANA) Album with 198 playful photographs depicting an African American soldier posing joyfully for the camera, in America and Europe.
With images of the unidentified figure presenting himself in a variety of lively poses: with fellow soldiers, drinking beer, sweeping the floor, playing pool, pointing his gun, or next to a snowman. Silver (193) and chromogenic (5) prints, the images measuring 3x3 to 8x10 inches (7.6x7.6 to 20.3x25.4 cm.), mounted recto/verso with photo corners, nearly all including the soldier. 4to, brown leatherette boards with a 3 ring binding.
