(CONFEDERACY) Civil War-era album with 50 vignetted cartes-de-visite of military luminaries, many from life, by Vannerson & Jones, Richmond, Virginia. Each is identified and numbered in a period handwriting. With a signed cdv of Gen. Robert E. Lee , and portraits of Breckenridge, Hampton (a Confederate cavalry leader), Longstreet, Preston of SC, Stewart, various members of the Johnson klan, Fritz Lee, Rooney Lee, Pickett, Geary, Keershaw, Mosher, and others; many with the photographers' credit on mount verso. 8vo, debossed morocco; front cover and front free endpaper detached but present, lacks backstrip (contents detached); brass clasps; all edges gilt. 1861-65
