Autograph Musical Manuscript Signed, “Fritz Delius,” working draft of his early unpublished work, “Susanna (Encounter in Dream),” 48 bars notated on 11 3-stave systems, with holograph title and lyrics, in German. Signed at upper right of first page. 4 pages, folio, 12 machine-ruled staves on recto and verso, written on a folded sheet; minor chipping and toning to all edges, owner’s description at lower edge of first page; custom cloth box with gilt spine title. [Norway?], circa 1888 [2,000/3,000] with — Eric Fenby.Autograph Letter Signed, to JimmyVan Heusen, recounting “the history of the MSS ‘Susanna’ . . . it is the autograph and only copy in existence of this early piece, and, to my knowledge, you are now the only private person to possess a signed Delius manuscript . . . .”2 pages, 8vo, first page written vertically across two pages, pale blue air letter form. Scarborough, UK, 29 July 1963. Eric Fenby (1906-1997) was a British composer who worked as the amanuensis of Delius in the years before Delius’s death.
