229 c CAMILLE PISSARRO Portrait de Jeanne Pissarro . Lithograph on smooth, cream wove paper, circa 1895. 330x255 mm; 13x10 inches (sheet), full margins, the image printed nearly to the edges of the sheet. One of only several known impressions. Inscribed “Éragny” in pencil, verso. A superb impression of this extremely scarce print. Jeanne (1881-1948) was the sixth of Pissarro’s seven children. The inscription on the verso likely refers to Pissarro’s home, Éragny-sur-Epte, a small village 60 miles north of Paris where he moved with his family in 1884 and where he spent much of the remainder of his career. Delteil cites only 2 known impressions of this exceedingly scarce lithograph. Delteil 144. [5,000/8,000] 229 230
