Condition B+ / B: abrasions, creases and restoration along vertical and horizontal folds; restored losses and repaired tears at edges; restoration and slight staining along top and bottom margins. A rare Italian image of the mighty Matterhorn. While the pronounced peak straddles the Swiss and Italian borders, it is mostly the Swiss who have commemorated the mountain via lithography. This dramatic night image, beneath a starry sky, is likely the largest poster of the mountain ever produced. We have found only one previous auction record for this poster.
