CAS (DATES UNKNOWN) 80 c LE KIVU / SA FAUNE UNIQUE AU MONDE. Circa 1935. 32 1 / 2 x23 1 / 4 inches, 82 1 / 2 x59 cm. Louis de Bock, Brussels. Condition B: tape stains and tears in margins; extensive creases throughout. Paper. This previously unrecorded image is for a region in the Belgian Congo that no longer bears that name. Now in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, situated near what is currently the Kahuzi-Biega National Park, the area is divided into Nord Kivu, Sud Kivu and Maniema. The region is known for its wildlife, including the eastern lowland gorillas, one of which is depicted here. [600/900] EMILE DUPUIS (1866-1942) 81  VISÉ. 1925. 39 1 / 4 x27 3 / 4 inches, 100x70 1 / 2 cm. Bénard, Liege. Condition B+: vertical and horizontal folds; restored losses and restoration in margins; repaired tear through top margin; creases in image. To promote the city of Visé, situated along the river Meuse in the Walloon Province of Liège, the artist relies on an unexpected visual conceit: geese - birds that have not been featured so prominently on a poster since they were disrupted by Steinlen’s woman on a motorcycle in Motocycles Comiot in 1899. Here, they are waddling in the foreground, as all manner of modern transportation options - including a car, a steamboat/cruise ship, a train and an electric train - give evidence to the advancing and exciting world behind them. [800/1,200] JAVIER BALDRICH (DATES UNKNOWN) 82 c SEVILLA / FIESTAS DE PRIMAVERA. 1929. 39x27 1 / 4 inches, 99x69 1 / 4 cm. Rieusset, Barcelona.
