Condition A- / B+: restored losses and minor tears in margins, affecting upper text; replaced lower left corner; minor time-staining at bottom edge. Beckman was one of Sweden’s foremost graphic designers. Amongst his major clients was AB Aerotransport (ABA), Sweden’s first airline company, which eventually became SAS. Beckman was renowned not only for his poster work, but also for the Pavilion he designed for the 1939 New York World’s Fair and many other international exhibitions and events. In 1939, he founded the Anders Beckman School to train up- and-coming Swedish youth in fashion and advertising design. Porla is a Swedish spa town renowned for its therapeutic waters.
