Marín (1942-2007) was born in Spain and in his teens trained as a bullfighter. In 1962, he
traveled to London and worked temporarily as an assistant for the artist Henry Moore.
Marín moved to New York in 1964 and in the late 1960s began working as a sculptor
full-time, focusing especially on mobiles, inspired by the work of Alexander Calder. In
1970, Marín had his first solo exhibition at the Alan Brown Gallery, Scarsdale.
