This Martha’sVineyard landscape is an unusual find.We believe this to be the first time this extremely
rare print has come to auction. After receiving a Carnegie Foundation grant, Douglas was able to
travel and paint up the East Coast in the summer of 1951 — including a visit to Martha’sVineyard.
