natural beauty of Japan, including Nagasaki, Kobe, Buddhas, Kyoto, Mount Fuji at dusk,Yokohama,

the negative, and 17 with handwritten captions, in ink, on slips affixed to the mounts just below
the image; with the original tissue guards, scattered foxing. Oblong folio, matte finish covers with
ivory inlay and gilt-highlights depicting a figure pulling a woman in a cart, this cover also with a
signature “D. Palumbo Japan July 1893,” in gold ink, and the rear cover with a striking representation
of Mount Fuji; leather backstrip; all edges gilt; in the original cloth box. 1893
