Venetian calf gilt with outer frame of fillets and azured scroll tools and fleurons around
panel with azured arabesque tool in corners and centerpiece formed by 4 impressions of
the corner tool, expertly rebacked retaining original backstrip with gilt-lettered title and
imprint added in the 19th century, ties lacking; few gatherings browned or dampstained,
minor stains on first title and next 2 leaves, dark stain in outer margin of approximately 20
leaves toward end; gilt edges, richly gauffered to strapwork design.
