A prolific poster designer based in Basel, Buhler
worked for many of the most recognizable firms,
such as P.K.Z., Union, Nivea and others. He
had a diverse style, but, as is seen here, he was
fluent with the concept the
Neue Sachlichkeit
(The New Objectivity), and also no stranger to
surrealism. This announcement for getting
weather reports over the phone shows a hyper-
realistic phone against a background of changing
