ignorant guy like me getting some sort of degree . . . . [W]ait till I am an old man and then
they maby[sic] will have chairs in these Colleges for Comedians. . . . They tell me you are
quite a Guy Doc and I want to meet you sometime, I have met that other great southern
Educator Dr. Morton of tuskeegee, but they tell me you are smarter than he is, only you are
unfortunate in picking out white folks to teach, the honor is great but the endowments are
small.
