Jones painted many of these bright and colorful landscapes around the sunny and craggy hills of
Cabris, which is located in the Alpes Maritimes of the south of France, and was the hometown of
her close friend Céline Tabary. It was also where Jones and Pierre-Noël married in 1953. She
originally visited the town in 1937 during her first year of studies in Paris, and returned numerous
times over a period of more than 50 years.
